This channel is for RAIDERS ONLY!
If you are not going to raid, don't join the channel!
I looked in the channel tonight and called a raid relying on the folks in there to show up. Several people dropped what they were doing, left their experience groups or whatever to come to the raid, only to find that we did not have the force required to kill anything!
You NEVER have to raid with AH if you don't want to. But if you are not going to raid when called, please don't join the raid channel. _________________

I will agree with Olidan on this one. Nothing is more frusterating to a raid leader then to look in the raid channel, see the potential to do a mob, call otm, and then half those people show. Then you have to scramble, trying to think of an alternate target that you *can* do with those numbers. It's the same with ahhealers. If you aren't going to be at the raid then stay the heck out! It's really hard to evaluate whether we have the healing to do a target if we don't get accurate numbers.
So if you aren't raiding stay out of the raid channel. Or I will have to start booting folks from channel again, and that is irritating.
Again tonight I put miles on my sneakers running to check a spawn after confirming we had enough in channel to kill it, and again when I get to the spawn half the channel is gone!
So lemme reiterate:
NO ONE EVER JOIN THE AHRAID CHANNEL UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO RAID!!!
WHAT IS THE POINT OF WASTING OTHER FOLKS' TIME?

Its been a while since I looked at it, but if I recall correctly, the original rules were that nobody was to join the raid channel until a raid was called. That is why when I see Vudu starting his announcement at 7:30, he says to join the channel and make your way to xyz....

Generally yes - ie we could raid any night of the week.
However, I am kind of learning from experience that the best thing to do might be the way Vudu does it on our regular raid nights - ie tell folks there will be a raid maybe 60 - 90 minutes ahead of time and to join the channel if they are going to come.
But if you are ready to OTM within say - 15 minutes or so - you can join the channel.
What I DON'T want to happen is to announce a raid and have folks leave the channel (why were they there in the first place, right?).
One additional note -
If you (not YOU specifically, but anyone) join the raid channel that should mean you are willing to raid regardless of the target - if you are picky about what targets you want to raid, just stay out of channel until target is announced and then join if you want to come. _________________

The same goes for me too. Very irritating to have to boot folks so don't make me have to start doing that please.
Currently we have the opposite problem than what Oli and Shieara were talking about though. We are having to decide which 54 people will get to join us on the raid out of how many ????. Hell we don't know. Why??? Well there's 57 in the raid and 67 in the ahraid channel. Are these 10 extra people going to join or not ya know?
So it's very simple get in ahraid (only if you are prepared to raid with us) and announce you are "class" LFG. If you don't get an invite announce again and again if you have to. Remember there are times when too much is going on or the raid's locked or whatever so be patient and we'll do our best to get you in the raid as quickly as possible. _________________ Sorcier

Folks, please only join ahraid when looking to raid.
When looking to raid, we try HARD to get you into raid, but you might have to wait till next target.
Also, it is unfair to folks in the raid to invite you at the last minute, where you don't contribute, yet earn a tier from something you didn't help on. That's why we don't invite after engaging the mob till win, normally. You didn't help, you shouldn't get credit. I realize RL over EQ, always, but let's be fair.
Oh, I'm hoping to change channel PWs tomorrow, once I figure out how.
