I'm planning on running a 'DoN weekend' in September probably the Eleventh and/or Twelfth. My intention is to run the raids starting about 11am Pacific Saturday to be done by AH raid time. Each raid should take an hour or usually less and will be run back to back to give us a cushion of time for Vish just in case.
These will be open raids with most drops to be rolled on - the single exception is the Eye of Vishimtar - only those who have been with us and helped from the start will be eligible to roll.
All participants must be at least level 65. Please also have some method of invisibility, and shrink with you, gate and levitate are also helpful.
Please be prepared with the audio triggers set for the Vishimtar event - "You sense your doom approaching" - you will need to a hot key to /say "shoulder my burden" to 'A mournful spirit'.
If we have enough interest to run raids on Sunday as well as Saturday I will be willing to lead. Otherwise I'd like to do the group and solo tasks on Sunday.
I will be requesting the raids with Ardnasc but running (and rolling for loots) with my shammy alt Sanzara *grins*
Please see the overview and checklist on http://samanna.net/eq.progression/prog.don.shtml and additional information http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=17716.
The raids are as follows in order:
Calling of Emoush
Trial of Perseverance
Volkara's Bite
Goblin Dojo
Guardians of the Sands
An end to the Storms (Yar'Lir)
The Curse of Ju'Rek
In the Shadows (Vishimtar) _________________ Have Fun!Ardnasc |

FYI to those interested, doing the raids isn't enough for DoN progression, but it does make it possible to complete the rest on your own. The other major hurdle with completing DoN is the faction grinding. If you get a "progression loot" from the raids, you can't turn it in until you get high enough faction. I think by the end you need Kindly.
I have finished DoN for Dark Reign, so if anyone needs me to do requesting of tasks/raids on the dark side for them, I can. The raids can be done on either the "Light" or "Dark" versions, it doesn't matter. |

Your mileage may vary? The raid drops were NOT good enough for me. Being in the appropriate Tier and handing in the progression item resulted in a giveback. You need to hail Commander Zaerr Ty'Dal for certain char flags prior to handing in, and these require faction and completion of solo and group tasks.
Over the course of the entire progression I had to do maybe 50+ extra tasks to get enough faction. I never turned in opposite faction tokens, so I know my faction was constantly on the up.
Maybe there was some shortcut I missed. |

I'll post this on the calandar.
I did have to do some quests to obtain enough faction to turn in raid drops on Ard. I expect that in most cases doing the solo/group tasks would result in enough faction - if not a few 'Creator' (sigh) missions should do it.
Perhaps you can log in a bit early that day Elric or Maybe we can schedule Vish on a Sunday at regular raid time?
Have Fun!

On the evil side, the following quests are the easiest to grind out:
Web of Lies
Best Laid Plans
Drake Eggs
Web of Lies you can just invis/fade/pacify/FD all the way to the end, kill one mob, then gate/FD. Some drakes, goblins, lizards see invis so it isn't completely trivial.
Best Laid Plans you can do similar, just go kill 1 mob, go turn the drop in to another npc inzone, then kill 1 more mob. The issue are the see invis folks but if you have a way to avoid aggro it goes much faster.
Drake Eggs is a straight run through Lavaspinner's Lair doing /open on eggs.
None of the above quests involve random/rare drops from killing trash mobs, so they are pretty fast. As a Necromancer I think my record for finishing Web of Lies was 9 minutes. _________________

I'll try to make it but I don't think I can as I now have a class on sat....we shall see. I need most of those raids so would be nice to run through them all. |
