After Hours Raiding FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Category: Main ->

Question
·  Who are you guys?
·  Who is your leadership?
·  What is your official time zone?
·  How do you guys communicate?
·  I have questions about my application and/or being an applicant, who do I talk to?
·  Where do I find the passwords for these channels?
·  Do you have specific class leads?

Answer
·  Who are you guys?

We are a group of players who raid together. How we fit into the paradigm of guilds is up to the individual player. Officially, we are an augmentation to the guild structure: a chance for hardcore players in a family guild to raid more, a place for Euro players in an American guild or vice versa, or somewhere to go after guild raids. We are not a guild, we are not a replacement for a guild, and we are certainly not open to everyone. If people leave their guilds because they have more fun on After Hours raids, that is their decision, but we strongly discourage such actions as we are by nature extracurricular.

·  Who is your leadership?

Our officers are some of our oldest and most reliable members, chosen for promotion by the current officers in charge. Each of them has the same authority, but they may focus on different areas. i.e. One may handle all applications and applicant concerns while another runs raids and a third maintains the website. For a complete listing of current management, please see the Management section of the Rules, Loot & AH section on the navmenu to the left.

·  What is your official time zone?

We post everything in relation to Pacific Standard Time (PST). If you do not live within PST, it is your responsibility to find out how many hours + or - you are from PST and plan accordingly.

·  How do you guys communicate?

In game, we have 2 main channels: Afterhours and AHRaid

Afterhours is our open chat channel that we keep open all the time. If you are waiting for a raid to start, this is the place to be. We use the channel for idle chat and for general announcements of various sorts.

AHRaid is our raiding channel. When we call an OTM, we ask people that will be joining us to join this channel so we can get an accurate head count of who is coming. Please do not join this channel until an OTM is called. After the raid has been formed, this is the channel everyone is to use for raid chat. Do not chat in /rs. In order to join the channel, do a /join AHRaid. Please note, this is for raid discussion. If you just want to chat please use tells, group chat or the Afterhours channel.
These channels are now password protected. Once you are approved as an Official Member, Applicant, or Guest you will have access to view their passwords in the "Current Channels and Passwords" thread of the Town Crier forum.

AHTank - Join this channel if you're a WAR/SK/PAL

AHPullers - Join this channel if you're a BRD/MNK/RNG (with HA AA)

AHHeals - Join this channel if you're a CLR/DRU/SHM/NEC/BST

·  I have questions about my application and/or being an applicant, who do I talk to?

First check below in the applicant section of the FAQ. If that doesn't answer your question talk to one of our officers and we will try to help you. See our Management page.

·  Where do I find the passwords for these channels?

They're in the post named "Current Channels and Passwords" in the forum named "The Town Crier". Only members are able to view the passwords.

·  Do you have specific class leads?

Yes, they are currently listed in the Management section of the Rules, Loot & AH section on the navmenu to the left.

You should coordinate with your specific class leads while you are in the raid. Also, pay attention to your Squad Leader (your group leader) during the raid as well.
