but since last patch u now need to run in 16 bit desktop color or it will not work correctly.
those taht dont know, this is a windowing program for boxing chars.
EQ does have the option of running in window mode BUT when one char is zoning the other chars lose mouse functionality, this resolves that problem so u can box ur brains out, i know i do!
quad box here i come... )
PS:
if u going to box with luclin models u will need at least 256 meg vid card for 3+ chars. and probably 1 gig of ram, but think the video memory is more important in this case... _________________ Dohi Fraylmind

I have boxed for a while using it. It works rather well and once you get over the swapping, you can do it rather efficiently. Its definitely not the same as having 2 different computers but its better than not having that 2nd character around. When I box, I don't claim to actively play both characters....I am not and never will be that good. But sometimes it benefits the situation to have both there. (i.e. trials and bringing both druid and cleric so that one or the other can stand outside the MPG trials and rez after a wipe/loss).
The RAM requirements for smooth swaps between characters is pretty hefty. Before I had 1GB it was pretty rough. Getting more RAM made a huge difference but you do HAVE to turn off the pretty sparklies if you want minimum lag and ummm don't try to port to WoS at the same time if you don't want lag (if you dont' have a REALLY REALLY good video card). That red mist kills my computer EVERYTIME.

When I was playing I was using EQPlayNice and EQ Windows with 2gb of RAM. I have the configuration set to run Window in Window so I had a small view of what was going on with the other char. Sometimes this gave me enough notice to swap over. If you set up the txt colors and are good at setting up text windows selectively you can see when things are going bad on the backround char. I did this frequently on AH raids. When outside AH raids I kicked it up to four active characters which was quite the balancing job. You really do need to have a good graphics card with decent on-board memory and at least 1gb of RAM. I liked the program so much I rarely used my second machine.
